DESIGN WITH A PURPOSE.

From Office Building to Learning Environment

JPC Architects partnered with Woodinville Montessori School to transform a former office building into a vibrant, student-centered educational space. Designed with Montessori principles in mind, the adaptive reuse project enhances wayfinding, fosters collaboration, and provides age-specific spaces tailored to student needs.

To ensure a smooth transition, JPC worked closely with the general contractor and the City of Bothell, implementing a phased construction plan that kept students safe and learning uninterrupted.

Key features include:

  • Office-to-School Conversion: Seamlessly repurposed an existing office building to function as a dynamic learning space.

  • Purposeful Spaces: New libraries, a fitness center, a teaching kitchen, and student lounges support diverse learning experiences.

  • Student-Driven Design: Students helped select classroom color palettes and lounge wallcoverings.

  • Budget-Conscious Approach: Value engineering ensured quality design within school budget constraints.

By blending adaptive reuse with thoughtful educational design, JPC helped create an inspiring and functional space where students can thrive.
