Microsoft’s new sales office in Sacramento is 6,300 sf. Their previous office was dated and they wanted to relocated to be in the hub of Sacramento, thus creating a larger Microsoft presence in downtown Sacramento. This office’s employees specifically wanted to be near the Capitol since many of their clients are government staff members. The design concept included local Sacramento heritage and environmentally-friendly culture mixed with the high-tech Microsoft brand. Custom super graphics of the Capitol Building and a poppy (the state flower), along with reclaimed wood suggest the local heritage while perforated white metal and clean lines suggest the high-tech nature of the business. Collaboration spaces were located in areas for meetings with external clients as well as informal internal meetings.
