COLLABORATION INSPIRED BY THINK TANKS.
The ‘Garage’ is a space created to support an open environment and hands-on think tank, inspired by spaces similar to the D-School on the campus of Stanford University and other Bay Area think tanks. The Garage is a collaboration space - a space to ‘stay late and code,’ engage in software and hardware prototyping as well as 3D printing to name just a few. The space is designed to be highly convertible and flexible to facilitate campus-wide science fairs where fresh ideas are tested and exhibited. In concert with the Garage proper is an adjunct centralized Dining Hub which overlaps with the function of the Garage encouraging collective brainstorming and collaboration. The main Garage space is designed for flexible furniture arrangements, organized from one large space to smaller quadrants which are defined by suspended rolling white boards.
